Nadia Hitimana

Nadia Hitimana is the health and hygiene manager at Sustainable Health Enterprises (SHE), a social venture addressing the unmet need for proper menstrual hygiene management. In addition to health education and advocacy, SHE helps women manufacture and distribute affordable, quality, and eco-friendly sanitary pads from local banana fibers. Nadia has also worked in Congolese refugee camps with the American Refugee Committee. Her community health development efforts have been recognized by the president of the United States and the Queen of England, leading to her recognition as a potential future African Leader via the Young African Leaders initiative and the Queen’s Young Leaders programs respectively.
