Robert Furberg
Robert Furberg is a senior clinical informaticist in RTI’s digital health and clinical informatics program. He has conducted several studies on smartphone and tablet-based interventions to support health promotion, primary and secondary disease prevention, and treatment adherence across a variety of patient populations for the National Institutes of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Robert also directs iSHARE, an RTI program that brings together researchers, engineers, clinicians, and informatics experts to establish novel methods for sensor-based, passive, longitudinal data collection. The team focuses on the extraction of self-generated information from consumer wearable devices, the use of research-grade sensors for high-fidelity physiological monitoring, and data integration to develop individualized prevention and disease management strategies.
