Trevor Snapp
Trevor Snapp is a producer and director with over a decade of global experience. He has produced and directed films for HBO Vice, Al Jazeera, the New York Times, and Arte. His virtual reality (VR) documentary We Who Remain won the SIFF award for best VR experience. In addition he helped found Nuba Reports, an experiment in local journalism in Sudan’s conflict zones that has also won numerous awards and partnered with leading media organizations around the world. He is currently building an innovation lab in Nairobi focused on creating new solutions for global media. As a photographer he has documented the start of Libya’s revolution, coups in Honduras, the French liberation of Timbuktu, Somalia’s mental health crisis, and the tragic birth of South Sudan. He works with Stern, Geo, New York Times, Newsweek, Time, BBC, and NPR. Trevor is dedicated to experiments at the intersection of design, technology, and freedom of information. He grew up in the San Juan Islands in Washington State and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
