Lavinia Ndapwoshisho Shikongo has led programs on public health, women and children's rights, and poverty eradication over the course of her 25-year career in public health. She is currently the general manager for IntraHealth Namibia, responsible for the overall management of programs on HIV, human resources for health, and health information system strengthening.
Previously, she worked for the United Nations in Namibia for over 14 years and served as the country director for the Society for Family Health, a Namibian public health NGO.
Shikongo has a good track record of building strategic alliances with government, civil society, and donors. She has a master of arts in urban and regional studies/public administration from the University of Minnesota-Mankato and a bachelor of social work degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Lavinia likes to read and travel.
