Emily Hillman

Emily Hillman is a senior innovation advisor in the Center for Accelerating Innovation and Impact within USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. In this role, Emily provides technical assistance, management oversight, policy guidance, and strategic direction to catalyze innovation within and beyond USAID. She oversees projects funded through the Saving Lives at Birth and Combatting Zika Grand Challenges, aimed at saving and improving lives through novel solutions to intractable health challenges. Emily is also co-developing resources to spark and sustain innovative thinking for impact and an innovation index to assess health innovations along their path to scale. She has extensive experience in maternal and child health, having worked in this area since she first joined USAID in 2011. Prior to joining USAID, Emily served as a community health Peace Corps volunteer in Peru, at an international humanitarian assistance nonprofit organization. She graduated with a master’s in public health from Emory University and bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
