Forest Foundation

Marc is president of the Forest Foundation, a nonprofit that focuses on local, renewable energy and resiliency projects. Several hybrid businesses have spun out of the foundation, including Carolina Biodiesel and Greenway Transit Services. The foundation is also revitalizing a brownfield site into a Hope VI community in east Durham, North Carolina. Marc has served on Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment Alumni Council, the Board of Environmental Educators of North Carolina, and the steering committee of the Black, Brown & Green Alliance. He holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
