Ava Gaye-Blackford

Ava Gaye-Blackford is a finalist in Participate Learning's Teacher of the Year for 2019 and is a Participate Global second grade dual language Immersion teacher. Ava serves as a Participate peer reviewer/mentor and local adviser for beginning teachers. She earned a Master’s in Educational Administration and Leadership and a Bachelor's degree in Education from the International University of the Caribbean in Jamaica. Ava is committed to student success inside of the classroom and in life. She provides vicarious experiences and opportunities for students to connect with their peers around the world. It is her belief that student success is created through meaningful relationships.
