Albert Medina has been a paramedic for 14 years, 11 of which have been with the Chicago Fire Department (CFD). For the past nine years he has held the rank of Paramedic in Charge managing the simulation training center and serving as lead educator for CFD’s incident command for cardiac arrest class. Albert’s other responsibilities include acting as a preceptor for Chicago’s emergency medical system (EMS), reviewing EMS cardiac calls to determine patient care gaps, assessing and training members and new candidates on advance life support and basic life support skills, and training members on cardiac and airway skills and knowledge on CFD’s mobile sim lab. Albert is the 2016 recipient of CineCares Foundation Real Life Heroes Chicago Fire Award.
