Lisa Russell is an Emmy-winning filmmaker who holds a master’s degree in public health. For more than 10 years, she has produced film and advocacy campaigns for various UN/NGO agencies. Lisa is a national speaker and a special contributing writer for the Huffington Post's Global Motherhood platform. She is also co-founder of MDGFive.com, an interactive new media site that unites artists and activists on maternal health. In 2014, she plans to launch “Selling the Shadow,” a new initiative to increase the involvement of creative professionals in development work and provide a portal for socially conscious entertainment. Based in Brooklyn, New York, Lisa is also a teaching artist for young artists at Urban Word NYC.
